Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is a with very good Linux performance despite the fact the game has no Linux native version. The game is Windows only but Wine, DXVK, and other project make things happen. With the following tutorial you can play Resident Evil 2 Remake too! Let’s begin!
For this game you’ll need Wine or Wine-Staging, DXVK, and mfplat (Windows Media Foundation) setup.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and Resident Evil 2 Remake requires mfplat setup which is a difficult task but thanks to z0z0z you can install it on Linux in a blink of an eye. Download z0z0z’s archive from the GitHub site and extract it. Now you’ll have to export your Wine prefix path:
export WINEPREFIX="/path/to/your/wine/prefix"
Run the installation script:
./install-mf-64.sh
The process will take several seconds.
In the archive you’ll also find a dll named mfplat.dll. Copy the library and place it in to the same directory as the .exe.
It would be nice to use ESync for an additional performance boost.
All done! Now you can play Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and Resident Evil 2 Remake on Linux!
