Immortals Fenyx Rising Linux DXVK Wine – how to play this game on Linux.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is a Ubisoft title and this means it will never see a Linux official support, despite the fact the game is available on Stadia which is a service that runs entirely on Linux Debian servers, so Ubisoft have a Linux version of the game already but it seems they’ll keep it only for Stadia. Not worry though, the game is running fine under Linux and it’s easy. Read on to learn how.
For this game you’ll need nothing more than a Wine/Proton, DXVK and a GRUB setting. First you have to install Wine and then DXVK. If you don’t know how to proceed, please reffer to our helpful article here.
Now you should install Ubisoft Connect for it’s required for this game. We are almost there ant the game should start now but it’ll be running in a „slow motion“ effect. This is easy to fix with a GRUB setting.
Open /etc/default/grub with a text editor of your choice and if you are using a Intel CPU add this line after the „quet splash“:
intel_pstate=disable
For AMD CPU add:
cpufreq.off=1
The whole line should be like:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet intel_pstate=disable"
For AMD:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet cpufreq.off=1"
Now update GRUB:
- For Ubuntu/Mint etc:
sudo update-grub
- For Arch/Manjaro etc:
sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
Reboot the PC and you’re ready! Now you can play Immortals Fenyx Rising on Linux!
- Wine version used in the video: Wine-Staging-Tkg 6.6.
