Planet Alpha Linux DXVK Wine – how to play this game on Linux.
Planet Alpha is a Windows only game but fortunately it runs great on Linux too. For this game you’ll need Wine or Wine-Staging, DXVK, and mfplat (Windows Media Foundation).
You can easily install DXVK following our DXVK installation tutorial.
For Windows Media Foundation installation the easiest way is to use a script created by z0z0z. All you’need to do is download the archive from the GitHub site, extract it, set the Wine prefix path, and run the script. Here’s how to do it:
Export your Wine prefix path:
export WINEPREFIX="/path/to/wine/prefix"
And run the script:
./install-mf.sh
If you wish you can use ESync for an additional FPS boost.
All done! Now you can play Planet Alpha on Linux!
