Remnant: From the Ashes Linux DXVK Wine – how to play this game on Linux.
Despite the fact Remnant: From the Ashes uses the cross-platform Unreal Engine 4, it is Windows exclusive title. It’s easy to play it on Linux though and we’ll show you how.
For this game you’ll need Wine or Wine-Staging, DXVK, and Windows Media Foundation (mfplat).
For DXVK you can follow our understandable DXVK installation tutorial.
With DXVK installed it only remains to install mfplat. It’s usually a very difficult task but no more! The GitHub user z0z0z released a script which help you install mfplat in a blink of an eye. All you have to do is download the archive from GitHub, extract it, export Wine prefix path, and run the install script.
- Export your Wine prefix path whеre you installed the game:
export WINEPREFIX="/path/to/your/wine/prefix"
- Run the install script with:
./install-mf.sh
You can use ESync for an additional performance boost.
And that’s it! Now you can play Remnant: From the Ashes on Linux!
