Rise of Nations is a real-time strategy game that spans all history. Rise of Nations: Extended Edition DXVK Wine Linux – how to run this game on Linux.
Rise of Nations: Extended Edition runs well on Linux. All you need is Wine-Staging x86, DXVK, directmusic, and a setting for the introduction video for it does not work.
– For DXVK setup follow our DXVK installation guide.
– For directmusic you’ll have to issue the following command:
winetricks directmusic
Wait until the process is finished. It’ll download some stuff so it’ll take some time.
We are almost there!
– Now you have to go to:
/prefix/drive_c/users/your_user/Application Data/Microsoft Games/Rise of Nations/
There you’ll find a file named rise2.ini. Open it, find the „SkipIntroMovies=0“ option and set it to 1:
SkipIntroMovies=1
All done. Now you can play Rise of Nations: Extended Edition on Linux!
- Wine version used in the video: Wine-Staging 4.11
- DXVK version: 1.2.2
- NVIDIA driver: 430.26
