The Sims 3 Wine Linux D9VK – how to play this game.
The Sims 3 is a game with Windows and macOS versions only but you can play it on Linux too. The game should run only with Wine but for faster performance it’s advised to use D9VK.
How to setup D9VK you can learn from our full D9VK installation tutorial. If you want to use the launcher, you’ll have to install .NET Framework 2.0. It’s easy as issue:
winetricks -q dotnet20
The game will run better if you set a Wine virtual desktop. Start Wine settings with:
winecfg
Go to Graphics tab, select the „Emulate a virual desktop“ option and fill the required fields with the desired resolution.
If you want a increased loading time and an FPS boost, you can use ESync.
