Star Control: Origins – Earth Rising runs really well on Linux. For this title we’ll need Wine, DXVK and Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.
– For DXVK you can check out very easy DXVK installation guide.
– Now you’ll have to install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 or some elements in the main menu like New Game or Fleet Battles will not work. Visual Studio 2015 installation is very easy. You’ll have to issue the following command:
winetricks -q vcrun2015
– If you wish you can use ESync for some performance boost.
