Both Darksiders III and the newest DLC Darksiders III Keepers of the Void are working great on Linux. They are very easy to setup for all you need is Wine, DXVK, and a setting in a config file to remove the framerate cap.

For DXVK you can see our DXVK installation guide which will guide you step-by-step through the setup process. You also can use ESync for an additional FPS boost.

We’re almost done but at this stage there will be stuttering caused from the game’s framerate cap at 60 FPS and the built-in DXVK Vsync.

To fix this you’ll have to edit the GameUserSettings.ini file. Keep in mind you’ll have to start the game at least once and make some changes in the video options and save them.

Than you can find the generated GameUserSettings.ini file here:

/prefix/drive_c/users/your_user/Local Settings/Application Data/Darksiders3/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor/

Open the file and ensure VSync=0. Then find the FrameRateLimit setting and set it to the desired value. For unlimited FPS you can set it to 999:

FrameRateLimit=999

Save changes and you are ready!
