Inspired by classic GTA, American Fugitive is a modern take on sandbox action, offering a new 3D top-down open-world single-player experience. Developed by Fallen Tree Games, the two studio founders have extended AAA backgrounds; including titles such as TimeSplitters, Crysis, Black, and Goldeneye 007: Reloaded.

American Fugitive is a Windows game without a Linux version. Playing it on Linux is relatively easy and it performs very well. You’ll need Wine, DXVK, and mfplat (Windows Media Foundation).

– For DXVK follow our step-by-step DXVK installation tutorial.

– For mfplat we can use the easiest method with the z0z0z install script. All you need to do is download the archive from the GitHub page, extract it, set your Wine prefix path, and run the install-mf.sh script. Here’s how to do this:

Export your Wine prefix path:

export WINEPREFIX="/path/to/wine/prefix"

Run the mfplat install script:

./install-mf.sh

All done! Optionally you can use ESync for some performance boost.
