After a devastating war between ancient mages, a powerful spell is all that holds together the shattered planet of Driftland. Faced with the destruction of their entire civilization and life on the planet, the warring factions called a truce and tried to repair the damage – but it was already too late. By using all their remaining magic to cast a powerful spell, they managed to keep their world in relative balance.

Driftland The Magic Revival is an Unreal Engine 4 game without Linux native version, however it works very well on Linux. It requires some work though. But fear not – we’ll show you how to setup it. Let’s begin!
For this game you’ll need Wine, DXVK, FAudio and some other stuff.
For DXVK you can refer to our easy DXVK installation tutorial. You can install FAudio following another easy guide.
We’re almost done. The game now will run great but there will be some cursor problems – when moving the cursor over something that should open up a tooltip, the cursor’s size increases, hence sometimes hiding the text being that text. It’s annoying but we’ll show you how to fix it.
All you need to do is to replace the animated version of cursors by static ones. You can find cursor files in /Driftland/Content/Cursor/. Now just make a record of the names for all .ani and .cur cursors files, then delete all the files or move them somewhere as a backup. Dont delete select.cur – you’ll need it later.
Now use the select.cur for base file and give it the different names you recorded, including .ani files. Now everywhere you’ll get a small blue cursor.
As a last step you can optionaly make use of ESync for an FPS boost.
