The story and action of Star Wars®: The Force Unleashed™ expands with the release of Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition, a special new version of the game that will show gamers the deepest, darkest side of the Force in a story that puts them on a collision course with Luke Skywalker himself. The Ultimate Sith Edition includes all of the original missions found in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed as well as content previously only available via download and an all-new exclusive bonus level.

You can play Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on Linux with some minor tweaking. For this game you’ll need only Wine, DirectX 9, a virtual desktop, and resolution setting in a config file. Let’s start.
The game itself runs fine but the luncher doesn’t work. This, however, isn’t a big problem. When you install the game, run it once and it’ll probably freeze, crash or will stutter like hell. Close it and go to the following directory:
/prefix/drive_c/users/your_user/Local Settings/Application Data/Aspyr/Star Wars The Force Unleashed/
There you’ll find a file named Config.xml. Open it with a text editor and edit the lines 3 and 4 to choose your resolution. The two lines are:
<s id="VideoWidth">1024</s> <s id="VideoHeight">768</s>
Save the changes and close the file.
Now we have to set a virtual desktop. Issue the following command:
winecfg
Go to the Graphics tab, choose „Emulate a virtual desktop“ setting and set the desired resolution.
The last step is DirectX 9 installation. For d3dx9 installation you have two choices:
- Install d3dx9 via winetricks:
winetricks d3dx9
- Install d3dx9 via Microsoft’s official installer:
You’ll have to download Microsoft’s official installer and run it with double click just like in Windows. Follow the installer’s steps.
All done! Now you can enjoy Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Star Wars: The Force Unleashed – Ultimate Sith Edition on Linux!
Keep in mind there’s no point using ESyng for the framerate is locked at 30 FPS.
