Fable Anniversary runs well on Linux both with Wine and D9VK. With D9VK, however, the game gets a preformance boost so it’s the preffered mode. All уоu need to do is use Wіnе, іnѕtаll D9VK and d3dx9.
For D9VK you may look at our D9VK installation guide which makes life easier. For d3dx9 installation you have two choices:
- Install d3dx9 via winetricks:
winetricks d3dx9
- Install d3dx9 via Microsoft’s official installer:
You’ll have to download Microsoft’s official installer and run it with double click just like in Windows. Follow the installer’s steps.
Optionally you can use ESync for a performance boost.
- Wine version used in the video – Wine 4.11 with ESync enabled.
- D9VK version: 0.12.
- NVIDIA driver: 430.26.
- Wine Mono is mandatory but it’s also installed by default upon prefix creation.
