Nioh: Complete Edition Linux DXVK Wine – how to play this game on Linux.
Nioh: Complete Edition is a console game ported from PS4 to Windows but not for Linux. The game is running fine on Linux though but you have to make some minor tweaks. Let’s start!
For this game you’ll need a special Wine version. Thanks to Kron4ek we have on our disposal Wine with a various enhancements and improvements called Wine-Staging Improved. You can download the latest version from the official GitHub site here.
You can use this prepped Wine version like this:
Other than that you’ll need DXVK. If you don’t know how to set it up, you can find useful this DXVK installation tutorial.
Another requirement is the following environment variable:
You can first issue this command and then „/path/to/wine/bin/wine“ „/path/to/the/game.exe“ or you can create a script and the game will run with double click.
#!/bin/bash export WINE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE="1" "/path/to/wine/bin/wine" "/path/to/the/game.exe"
Make the script executable and start it via double click or via terminal.
Now the game should run but you have to start the game Launcher and choose Display Mode: Borderless or the game will crash at start. Please be advised some of the cutscenes are not working.
That’s it! Now you can play Nioh: Complete Edition on Linux!
