Test Drive Unlimited 2 is a game for Windows but you can play it on Linux too with some tinkering. The game tends to cause problems on Linux in the past but no more. With Wine version 4.1 and above you can play the game without any problems at all.
For Test Drive Unlimited 2 you’ll need just Wine or Wine-Staging and an offline launcher named TDU2 Universal Launcher. You can download it from the Web or if you seek a direct link, you can download it from here.
- Keep in mind for TDU2 Universal Launcher Wine Mono is mandatory but it’s also installed by default upon prefix creation.
Now extract the downloaded archive, copy TDU2_Offline_Mode.bat, TDU2_Online_Mode.bat, and TDU2_Universal_Launcher.exe files and paste them in to the game’s root directory near to the game’s exe. Start the Launcher, choose Tools->Settings and set the TDU2 root folder:
Hit the „Save“ button and close this window. Now all you have to do is to select „Offline“ mode and hit the „Run Game“ button:
